Dr. Erik (E.J.F.M.) ten Berge (1947) was born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. After High school (Gymnasium β in Eindhoven) he started, in 1967, to study Medicine at the Radboud University Nijmegen. During his study (1975), he completed his PhD thesis. The title of his dissertation was “Folate metabolism and diphenylhydantoin in experimental epilepsies. After his medical degree (1977) he started in the lung center, Nijmegen his training as pulmonologist. His trainer/supervisor was Professor C. M. Jongerius. After registration (1984) he worked as a pulmonologist at Hospital Group Twente, Location Hengelo, until July 2009. His focus was on pulmonary rehabilitation (in the rehabilitation center Roessingh), interstitial lung disease and oncology.
Since 2009 he is lecturer Clinical Skills at the Department of Technical Medicine of the University of Twente.
