Judith Bons was born on August 16, 1981 in Tegelen, The Netherlands. After she finished secondary school at the Thomascollege in Venlo in 1999, she started with her academic education Biomedical Health Sciences at the Catholic University of Nijmegen. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Health Sciences in August 2003. In March 2004 she started as a researcher at the Department of Clinical Chemistry at the University Hospital Maastricht under supervision of Prof. Dr. M.P. van Dieijen-Visser and Dr. W.K.W.H. Wodzig. She defended her thesis in March 2008 and she started with the training in Clinical Chemistry in December 2007, also at the Department of Clinical Chemistry at the University Hospital Maastricht. After finishing this training in December 2011 she is now a staff member of the Central Diagnostic Laboratory at the University Hospital Maastricht.
